On The Nature Of Man

I remember this question from a Calvin & Hobbes cartoon (of all places.)

Is man inherently good with some bad tendencies, or is man inherently bad with some good tendencies.

Or we plain and plump neutral deciding what direction we'll go thanks to free will?

Simple question with complex considerations no doubt.

Yes, free will is a very complex issue. Your question as asked is unanswerable but it does bring forth one's responsibility towards one's choices. However functional or dysfunctional an environment we come from, we are all, some day, faced with the choice of good vs evil, and we are the only one responsible for the road we chose.
