Not Everyone Thinks Obama's Health Proposals Are Bad

A study by the Urban Institute - Health Policy Center - a Washington D.C. think-tank - on Obama's health care proposals. Though it seems to take a different position from the Congressional Budget Office (who suggested the plan would prove too costly) they paint a more favorable picture.

For example:

Our general assessment of the Obama plan is that it would
• greatly increase health insurance coverage but would still leave about 6 percent of the non-elderly
population uninsured, compared to 17 percent today.
• substantially increase access to affordable and adequate coverage for those with the highest health
care needs, including those with chronic illnesses, by spreading health care risk broadly;
• significantly increase the affordability of care for low-income individuals; and
• reduce the growth in health spending through a broad array of strategies.

  1. It seems the Obama and the health care thing are almost totally absorbing your blog. I can well understand. They are important issues even here in Europe, I can imagine their importance out there, although I won't get into that fray. I cannot but say generic things so I'll just keep my status of lurker.

    Hope all is well with you and your family.

  2. It's a most fascinating topic and one in which involves Canada in some ways.

    I listen to the White House, read liberal and conservative magazines and follow the hoopla surrounding the Townhall meetings.

    Vigorous stuff.

    All is well - but could be better!

  3. We will be even more deeply involved if we allow all those private for profit American medical firms to invade us. Then thanks to "mal runny's" oversight in allowing NAFTA's chapter 11 we will never be able to get rid of them.

  5. Ernest Schneider bought the Breitling Bentley and Navitimer trademark. For the period of about ten years there have been attempts to release some Chrono Superocean . However, the true rebirth of the Navitimer line took place in 1986 with the launch of the 81600 model. The Superocean timepiece incorporated a mechanical Chronomat B01 movement.

    The Coach Wallets belonging to that collection had the letter C printed on Coach Wristlet and were made both from leather and different fabrics. It did not take too long before Coach Hamptons regained its popularity, with the Coach Gallery style becoming a genuine trademark.

    You can wear Ed Hardy Clothes that will be high-quality, fashionable and will last. hardy shirts look great and they will stand up to the wear and tear of just about anything. You can still show off the fantastic brand name: hardy shirts denim. ED Hardy Shoes does just that.
