Total Human War Deaths

I have no idea how many wars and deaths have taken place in history but I'm pretty sure it's not in the billions. Low hundreds of millions (not including the Plagues) and that figure is boosted thanks to the 50 million dead during WWII.

  1. From the beginning of time? I would be shocked it if topped a billion... do we count our extermination of other hominid species as "war" or "hunting?"

  2. And disease as a result of war?

It's a hard line to draw.

    But even then. A billion?

  3. Humans have been around for some 2 or 3 million years at various stages of development and so called civilization.
My maths are rather poor but I guess it averages 3.3 victims a year.
