It's A Ukranian (and Greek) Holiday

My wife, as she does every year, not only insists we keep the Christmas tree up but lit as well. Moreover, the lights along our railing on our outside stairs must also remain illuminated.

T.C: Um, fuck, honey it's over with the lights.
T.C.'s wife: Leave them on.
T.C.: Why? It's January 5th.
Wife: Because it's Ukranian Christmas.
T.C. (looks at skin): But we're not Ukranian.
Wife: No, but Mrs. Huq is. So is Marissa.
T.C: And? So are the Mahovlich brothers.
Wife: Greeks also celebrate the Epiphany on the 6th. I want them on.
T.C. (sips gin tonic): Bah. You're a crazy bitch, bitch. Uke Christmas ends on the 19th. Are we gonna keep the lights on until then? What about the environment?
Wife: Like you care.
T.C.: Oooo, 1000 Ways To Die is on.

We celebrate Christmas on civil January 7th and Theophany on civil January 19th.

There are innumerable customs related to both feast days. The tree, diduch, holy night meal(s), are just a few of these practices.

I hope you guys don't really talk to each other like that!
