Moment Of Comedy

Back in 2000 The Independent argued snow was a "thing of the past."

The dipshit who wrote the article should come to Quebec. Record snow falls this year. And from what I read, same thing in England.

Anyway.

This crap is similar to the crappy articles we see "correlating' global warming with less outdoor hockey rinks. One sports writer went as far as to claim this would lead to less hockey players.

The mind spins with all this anti-scientific stupidity swirling around us.

We don't know jack shit about correlation and how it relates to causes, so all these people are just messing with your mind.

Meh. It's a living. They have to pay the bills, you know.

My favorite line in the article:

"Children just aren't going to know what snow is," he said.

It's a timeless classic to insert the kids for emotional appeal. The Simpsons used this technique to brilliant and dramatic effect with Maude Flanders and her constant shrill charges of "won't anyone think of the children!

And who gives a shit if they won't? It's snow. Not blood or water. Snow, while beautiful (increasinglt for me from afar) is a nuisance.

"Heavy snow will return occasionally, says Dr Viner, but when it does we will be unprepared. "We're really going to get caught out. Snow will probably cause chaos in 20 years time," he said.

Sound familiar? Alarmism is a nice way to get grants I reckon. Where's Al Gore anyway?
