The CSA: Still Without A Clue

The Canadian Soccer Association hired former Team Canada defender and captain Colin Miller as interim coach for the second time. I gather for them to get their act together from the last tournament debacle.

Man, oh man, is the CSA plain bad. It lacks so much vision blind people (sorry, the visually impaired - hey, I watch AMI) can see it.

Recently, Team USA won its second gold medal in four years at the World Juniors in hockey. I bring this up because USA hockey has been on rise for over a decade now and I think it's at the point it has matched if not surpassed Canada. Did anyone see them skate circles around Canada? Even in Vancouver they out skated the Canadians. If not for Crosby's fortuitous and timely goal, it could have easily have been America carrying gold at the Olympics.

If anyone cared to observe, the Americans have been dominating at the U-18 level for a long tome so it was a matter of time before the U-20 was next.

Someone I know who is involved in hockey was telling me impressive the American system is. Highly organized and well-funded. It was a matter of time before they joined the Russia-Canada love fest.

It's the same thing in soccer American soccer is on a good path I feel.

Canada?

If you call no real development structure or system a "path" or strategy then, hey, by all means continue to be deluded into believing this team can make the World Cup anytime soon.

Canada produces decent soccer players in spite of the CSA. All this talent. Squandered. What a shame.
