Should Children Pay For Elderly Parents?

"Urpo Kangas, a Professor in Civil Law at Helsinki University, argues that adults should be obliged to pay for their elderly parents’ institutional care if their own pensions are insufficient to cover costs.
There was a similar provision in Finnish law as part of the 1922 Poor Relief Act. It was repealed in 1970 on the grounds that it was inappropriate for a welfare state."

Emphasis mine.

Statists gonna statist.
