On Equality

It's a myth.

A progressive construct. A shadow we seek to box with.

Equality doesn't exist because humans possess free will. We yearn to be free. And demanding equality eliminates freedom for it stands at the opposite end.

There is only equality before the law and God. Anything beyond that, in the work place, in sports, or whatever social setting, there can be no equality because we all are free to make choices. Choice inherently leads to "inequality."

Demanding equality is a fool's game. In order for it to be valid we need a point of reference. But what is that reference point? Indeed, we can easily fall into a trap of envy. "Why does he, a man, earn more, than me, a woman?" Why do CEO's make so much money? Inheritance is hoarding!

All these empty slogans are jargon for stupid and envy. They will claim it's to find "balance" and "justice" but it's just destroying another person's liberty to submit to the arbitrary rules of the collective tyrannical mob.

That's all it is.

Our concern shouldn't be equality. The more we obsess over a futile exercise the more we distort it. The less, in other words, equal we become.

Our focus should be maintaining liberty and freedom.

For instance, men and women can never be equal for a multitude of obvious reasons. First among them, women hold the most important task of all - child-bearing and rearing. They're the bedrock of our civilization.

However, this doesn't mean they should lose their right to make choices as free individuals to live their own lives. If they choose to have an abortion. It is their right. If not, still their own right. It is not my place to interfere for once I do, I cease believing in freedom.

We are - or should be - FREE to find meaning and happiness and this is INTENSELY PERSONAL. If this means they become 'unequal' (ie, the woman or man stays home to raise the child) then so be it. The community is stronger when decisions are made by free people. No laws or shaming can ever change this basic fact of human nature.

That's why I don't take my marching orders from top men or bureaucrats. The only way I do is when I'm threatened by force - fines, jail time. The ideas of the government and its flunkies of what constitutes 'equality' is so grand they need to compel you to follow their lead. Like sheep; mouton.

They'll have you believe equality is freedom. But they lie. As they always do.
