Daily Derp: Very Loooong And Very Derp

Some of these are old news but still worth it. It's a bunch of stories I never got around to posting. Still going to mix in some new stuff like....

Look for the left to suddenly care for debt, deficits, executive orders abuse, and civil liberties with President elect Trump. They couldn't be bothered to care under President Obama.

******

Another day, more hate crimes debunked.

******

WaPo asks in June why an assassinate attempt on Trump wasn't a bigger story.

It's November and we're still wondering why. The prog jerks atTwitter doesn't seem to care.

John Culhane has sound advice for parents.

Don't turn them into productive citizens with integrity and sound mind. Nope. Turn them into agitators. Outstanding.

In case you were wondering, I will do no such thing. Because, you know, we're responsible adults.

Someone should ask the folks at NPR about their opinions regarding all the #assassinateTrump and Kill Trump memes and hashtags littering the internet.

Cool or not cool?

Once they settle down from their spinning maybe they can ponder the question.

What was one response by the EU after the Brexit vote? Launch a crackdown on kettles and toasters.

Totally gonna make them regret their decision.

******

Never had the time to work out my thoughts on Brexit. Quickly, one like Trump (and I really do regret not posting articles I wrote about how the alternative media had him winning) they didn't see it coming. And like Trump Brexit voters were deemed xenophobic and the reaction were just as hysterical. Guess what? The world didn't end. Two, the theory of the EU is one thing, but in practice it's become a gigantic technocratic mess and superficially democratic.

Nobel Laureates to Greenpeace: Stop killing children.

"The United Nations Food & Agriculture Program has noted that global production of food, feed and fiber will need approximately to double by 2050 to meet the demands of a growing global population. Organizations opposed to modern plant breeding, with Greenpeace at their lead, have repeatedly denied these facts and opposed biotechnological innovations in agriculture. They have misrepresented their risks, benefits, and impacts, and supported the criminal destruction of approved field trials and research projects.

We urge Greenpeace and its supporters to re-examine the experience of farmers and consumers worldwide with crops and foods improved through biotechnology, recognize the findings of authoritative scientific bodies and regulatory agencies, and abandon their campaign against "GMOs" in general and Golden Rice in particular."

Whatever happened to 'Attack Watch'?

Believe it or not this happened BEFORE TRUMP!:

Mark Steyn knows:

"By the way, a guest host of this program, Mark Steyn, was on Greta last night. Did you hear what he said? This is great. Steyn said, quote (paraphrasing), "To most Americans, Donald Trump sounds a lot less nutty than John Kerry did when he said in Paris that Islam's not the problem, while they're still mopping blood up from the streets in Paris." Bingo.
That's not unconnected to his victory a year later. The so-called nuts are saner - or, at any rate, less reckless and imprudent - than all the respectable types whose fatuous illusions get you killed for going to a restaurant or rock concert."

More stuff you won't see in the mainstream press:

"There are now more non-military government employees who carry guns than there are U.S. Marines, according to a new report.
Open the Books, a taxpayer watchdog group, released a study Wednesday that finds domestic government agencies continue to grow their stockpiles of military-style weapons, as Democrats sat on the House floor calling for more restrictions on what guns American citizens can buy."
More bureaucrats have guns than Marines, huh.

Something, something, disturbance in the narrative.

Where the EU technocratic whores can stunt growth by imposing a massive regulatory and bureaucratic super-structure, they will do it.

A new proposal from the European Parliament calls for working robots to be classified as "electronic persons," and for their owners to pay social security on their behalf. The draft motion, published online this month, aims to address the new challenges that Europe's robotic workforce will present as robot technology becomes more pervasive and intelligent. The proposal says growing automation will require new frameworks for taxation and legal liability, but as Reuters reports, it faces opposition from some robotics companies.
The rise in automation and artificial intelligence has raised concerns in Europe and elsewhere over economic effects, including unemployment, inequality, and social security systems.
VDMA, a German industry group that represents major robot manufacturers, says it's too early to create such a legal framework for robots, adding that it could hinder innovation. Patrick Schwarzkopf, VDMA's managing director for robotics, told reporters at a Munich trade show that a framework could arise "in 50 years, but not in 10 years."
"We think it would be very bureaucratic and would stunt the development of robotics," Schwarzkopf added."

"This is the first time that I look at a device that was approved by the FDA and I am absolutely, utterly, and totally appalled that it was approved," says Joseph Gutman, an endocrinologist and diabetologist in Pembroke Pines, Florida, who has treated patients with obesity for over 30 years. Gutman says he’s put together a group of 750 physicians who want to sue the FDA to take the device off the market; his ultimate goal is to get 4,000 doctors to join him. "It is the most pathetic exhibition of ignorance on the part of our agency, the FDA. It is nothing but a bad trick. It’s like a bad joke."

Before Trump, they were just nuts. After Trump they're just unhinged. Here's what the before looked like:

“We are a post-genocidal society. On this continent there were native people, indigenous people, Native Americans, and they were slaughtered by the millions … by white settlers,” Stevenson, a professor at the New York University School of Law, told the grads. “I don’t think that slavery ended in 1865, I think it just evolved. It turned into decades when you had lynchings and violence and terrorism, and people of color fled from the American south to communities all over this country.”
Really? Attack people...at a commencement speech?

/whistling and walking hand in my pocket deep in free-form thought.

No one should really be surprised by what's happening on college and university campuses on the continent. While there are several reasons and theories worth exploring as to why (and too long for our purposes here), one is the practice of affirmative action. Affirmative action, in a nutshell, allows people to go to university who are unprepared but are admitted on racial considerations. This, in my view, is still a form of racism (or at least unjust to the student who deserves the spot) as it reinforces needly negative stereotypes (and even destructive to the point of a student realizing they in fact do not belong in such an environment) and serves no one. Not the school, not 'society' and certainly not the student.

A student who is academically inferior comes in with, as part of that weakness, generally an uncritical mind. Perhaps a lack of intellectual curiosity likely to react aggressively if not violently to opinions that challenge their world view. They come in with a pre-determined perception of the world (based on their experiences and confirmed by a network of friends and academia* and little else) and come armed to defend it. Not accept the possibility it possesses errors or could be wrong. It's 'fight the power' for school. They don't see school as a place to evolve and grow but a place to impose their will upon it. The idea of working in the spirit of intellectual freedom and cooperation is alien - nay! - rejected by this student.

Given they're already weak in critical thought (have a look-see), they're open to all sorts of propaganda and as such at the mercy of academics with an agenda. Where Pinketty becomes the authority of all things economic, Friedman becomes a pariah and there's no in-between. No wiggle room for debate. In fact, as we've seen, they've come up with a neat method of not confronting people who challenge their views. They either call for censorship or they simply assert those who oppose them are 'racist'. How dare they challenge their anecdotal personal experiences in an institution of higher learning?

More like lower learning now.

It's all pretty bloody obvious.

*People like Elizabeth Warren for example. Leftists like Warren don't seek truth. They look for narratives to exploit. She'll rail against 'rigged systems' and whisper into their ears they're being robbed and mistreated further deepening their already cynical and unproductive stances. And then she quietly tip toes backwards like a Scooby-Doo villain out of the room to observe her machinations from afar. She's a sower of discontent by design because she has the remedy already set up in a working paper she'd like to present to further her ambitions and for political gains.

The Federal government has no business mandating schools on transgender bathrooms. It's gross over reach and find it appalling parents weren't asked about this first. Let local schools and their communities determine if this is needed.
